I'm currently listening to a lot of Shamanism podcasts from iTunes. There's currently about 24 episodes, each an hour or so long.

(If you have iTunes on your PC, you could browse for "3Worlds Shamanism" if you're interested. They're free, and they play on a PC as well as portable mp3 players.)

This guy is orientated mainly on North American Indian traditions, but he recognises the unity of all spiritual paths (at source). It's very interesting. It's just a few more clues, ...

I'm currently reading a book called "The Real Middle Earth", by Brian Bates. I've now discovered that Tolkien's fictional Middle Earth was based on real historical concepts and beliefs.

I love the Anglo-Saxon and Celt world view, and I'm really getting into it. I didn't realise that there was such a deep and long standing spirituality in the west, of a belief in an interconnected unity (called Wyrd) similar to the Eastern Tao, Chi, etc...

Why do we need to bother with Eastern ...

I give you this one thought to keep

I am with you still, i do not sleep

I am a thousand winds that blow

I am the diamond glints on snow

I am the sunlight on ripened grain

I am the gentle autumn rain

When you awaken in the morning's hush

I am the swift uplifting rush

Of quiet birds in circled flight

I am the soft stars that shine at night

Do not think of me as gone

I am with you still in each new dawn

The following is all from Diana Cooper ~

In approximately 20,000BC, a clarion call resonated throughout the universes for volunteers to take part in the final experiment of Atlantis. 64,000 were chosen and for a glorious period of 1500 years, these people vibrated at a 5th dimensional frequency, their energy so pure that their chakras literally glowed with joy and vitality. They lived in cooperation, sharing and harmony, dedicating all to the highest good. They managed to maintain this ...

For more than 1,000 miles, with women, children, sick, elderly and wounded, he out-manouvered, fought to a standstill or defeated 10 seperate U.S. army units. Trapped within 20 miles of the Canadian border, he managed to sneak his people into Canada at night. He stayed behind with those too sick or injured to travel and surrendered in the morning. After he surrendered, he went to Washington to meet President ...

An old grandfather said to his grandson, who came to him with anger at a friend who had done him an injustice........."Let me tell you a story. I too, at times, have felt great hate for those who have taken so much, with no sorrow for what they do. But hate wears you down, and does not hurt your enemy. It's like taking poison and wishing your enemy would die. I have struggled with these feelings many times.

The Path of the Feather as a teaching, is about becoming a contemporary Shaman by seeing and hearing the voices of the living earth. It is about finding out who you are by making medicine wheels and listening to the voices of the spirit animals and ancient ones. It is about you living your ordinary life as your vision quest, as your Shamanic journey. It is about you becoming one who sees and one who heals the earth with intent.

An ancient Chippewa tradition

The dream net has been made

For many generations

Where spirit dreams have played

Hung above the cradle board

Or in the lodge, up high

The dream net catches bad dreams

While good dreams slip on by

Bad dreams become entangled

Among the sinew thread

Good dreams slip through the centre hole

While you dream upon your bed

This is an ancient legend

Since dreams will never cease

There is an ancient Hopi legend, written on a sacred stone in Arizona. The Dali Lama visited here once and he discovered that the Hopi's and Tibetan Buddhists share many of the same prophecies for our future. Native American legends tell us that there were 13 planets in the Cosmos, inhabited by humans and that souls could travel about as they evolved.

They say that there are 13 life-size crystal skulls, 1 for each planet, which contain crucial information about humankind's origins, true ...
