| Thought i'd create a new topic for you all to get your teeth into Asking for it? What do I mean by that? Well it seems some view every mishap in their lives as some kind of punishment and will say this happened to me today because I did that 20 years ago. I have to add here that i'm a firm believer in 'what comes around goes around' but do you think it's that straightforward, that if for instance you pinch some sweets from a shop as a kid that your house will get burgled when you're 35? Another example someone who smokes all their life never has an ill day but you who have meticulously looked after yourself all your life develop a chronic illness, i've actually heard people say 'i'm being punished' what are your thoughts on all of this and sorry if i'm rambling and making no sense I should be in bed | |

| Good Topic Jay , Mmmm Yeah alot of bad things happen to very good people im sure we have all known someone this has happened to if not ourselves As we know and heard that we do make our blueprints before reincarnating to this earth , and yes i can hear some of you saying " I most certainly wouldnt have written this into my Blueprint " But ive heard that as you know we are beings of intelligence and we live to learn and they say that really is what life is all about Learning and the reason why some of us come back to learn more , To Put it another way IS there anything in your life that you where adamant that you wouldnt do yet you did and it wasnt as bad as you thought , because you knew you could go back to what you were doing before , well to me thats what we do here ,We keep coming back because we KNOW that there really is light at the End of the tunnel so to speak and have no fear in experiencing the bad in our next lives bearing in mind though .we have no recolection of what we signed up to experience here, Goodness if we did we wouldnt learn or experience Anything at all , We Would be defeating the purpose of reincarnation. To Me we experience heartbreak and Empathy for our fellow beings on this earth to truely experience all levels of Pain and as for the reason for learning this is to undrstand each other and in a perfect world( " Is Seemingly What We are Racing for ") Just like an Author that writes and Rubs out Writes and rubs out , till he finally, he reaches his masterpeice. Well Thats my Wee Theory xxx :wendy: | |

I have heard people who have had mishaps or problems say they are being punished but again is this just fate but I'm not to sure. I'm not too sure, either. Indeed, I've had to wait and think a lot about this before posting anything on this subject. I don't know about Jay's example... stealing sweets as a child, then suffering a material loss (theft) many years later. That doesn't make much sense to me as a form of karma etc... it's too many years after the initial event. I believe that if it's going to happen as a form of punishment, karma, etc... that it will happen a lot sooner than that. What I do believe; from what I've noticed (and I can only speak from my own personal experience, noticing what goes on in many relationships) is that there is a form of karma similar to what Jay describes. As an example... Person 'A', is mean, selfish, or thoughtless, and ignores the feelings of others. He or she treats Person 'B' like dirt for many years. Then, in a seemingly unrelated set of circumstances, person 'A' starts to experience, from others, what he or she has been doing to Person 'B' all these years. He or she starts to experience the same as Person 'B' has been experiencing at his or her hands. Karma? Punishment? Natural justice? Consequences?... I don't know, but I've seen it happen a few times!

Although, I DO believe in getting back what you put out. karma is a balance of experience to me. no punishment for 'bad deeds' but like Sparkle said--what would we learn if we didn't experience it?

| Great responses, so many seem to get far more than their share of difficulties and I was discussing this with someone today, we drew the coclusion that what doesn't kill you makes you stronger basically, there's no punishment involved at all, and isn't a life full of character building experiences far better than a life of the old silver spoon syndrome, full of riches but no real quality or experiences, no real 'living'? | |
