| Have seen the consultant oncologist today, basicly will start my chemo next week . its to be about 1hour long & then will be the same every 3 weeks 6 times in all so that will be over 18 weeks then after a few weeks gap it will be 5days a week for 5 weeks of Radiotherapy, so Nigel was told actualy that realy knocks out the next 6months. We actualy have to go again on Friday to see the nursing staff, to sort out the chemo arrangements & have bloods done. Also they have decided that to play it safe need to have a full body scan just to see its not spread anywhere else. so that looks as thou our summer is planned : | |

| suppose the fun starts tomorrow, first they sent the wrong letter about my scan, anyway am having that tomorrow, and then the chemo starts Wednesday, they even want somer there for that so he knows what am being done & told, & then the following Tuesday we have an appointment to go & choose a wig style, which will then be ordered just for me, which they can choose to match how my hair is now, somer thinks wont have one with enough grey in to match my hair. We also met a friend whose mum has cancer tratment, & has just had the 3rd session of it, but she then tells me that the Mum has had a real bad time with the sickness, even thou they give you medicine for this, so uptill now thought the medication would sort it but now am wondering will I be the same, oh am not looking forward to the next 18weeks. sorry if am moaning. | |

| Pam if you're happy to tell us what's happening, we are more than happy to listen we never think you are moaning and know that you will need to talk to people about this Trust somer to be cheeky about the wig, i'd watch him for borrowing it Pam! I hope the scan goes ok It's good they are involving somer in your treatment, I think it's important so that he understands what is going on although yopu both must feel a bit dazed by it all at times. Pam what happened with your friends mum might not happen to you, every case is probably different , though I can appreciate that you must be worried, the next 18 weeks may be hard but Pam you're strong and all of us here at my house and our friends here on the forum will be sending masses of healing and energy I will be sending extra healing tomorrow for the scan and i'll be in touch again soon | |

| Hi Pam.. not sure if anyone in the unit does acupuncture but P6 (pericardium 6) has been proven to lessen the sickness in chemo treatment. If anyone can do that for you it will help. Jay is right, everyone takes chemo differently - some are horribly sick and poorly others seem to sail through it. Jay says you are strong and i believe that too and it will stand you in good stead. Of course chemo is tough going but we will all be behind you and supporting you all the way. With the wonderful Somer at your side wanting grey haird wigs for you i am sure you will be kept smiling! All my love and good wishes to you | |
